UPDATE: The Nevada Commission on Judicial Selection has selected 3 finalists for each position available on the Elko County District Court. David Loreman, Nancy Porter, and William Schaefer have been sent to the governor's office for former District Judge Mike Memeo's seat. Judge Alvin R. Kacin, Porter, and Kristin McQueary have been selected as finalist candidates for Judge Andrew Puccinell's former position on the court.[1]

Elko, Nevada: On November 18, the Nevada Commission on Judicial Selection will conduct interviews for two open positions on the Elko County District Court. One position became available after the August death of Judge Andrew Puccinell, and the other will be due to a vacancy left by the November 1 resignation of Judge Mike Memeo. Five people have applied to Judge Memeo's position, they are: Elko justice of the peaceand Municipal Judge Alvin R. Kacin, Elko County Deputy District Attorney Kristin McQueary and attorneys David Loreman, Nancy Porter and William Schaefer. All of them but Schaefer have also applied for Judge Puccinell's position on the court.[2]

Following their interviews three candidates for each position will be selected by the commission and passed on to Governor Brian Sandoval, who will then make the appointments.[2]
