Cicero, New York: Two candidates are running to replace longtime Cicero Town Court Justice, Carl T. Putzer, who will be retiring from the court at the end of his term. Robert J. Bertrand and Douglas M. DeMarche, Jr. will compete for the Conservative and Independence line in a September 14, 2010 primary election. The winner will run as the Conservative/Indepenent in the November 2nd general election. DeMarche has also received the Republican's nomination and Bertrand the Democrats' nomination.
Bertrand is a lawyer based in North Syracuse. His practice focuses on elder law and Medicaid. He has also served as the Village Justice of North Syracuse for almost 30 years. If elected Cicero Town Justice, he will preside on both courts.
DeMarche also works as a lawyer, as well as a part-time assistant district attorney for Madison County.[1]
