Two judges recommended for 30th District Court of Kansas

Kansas: The 30th Judicial Nominating Commission of Kansas has selected two nominees to fill a vacancy on the 30th Judicial District Court. The following names were sent to the Governor on Feb. 2, 2012:

  • Candace R. Lattin opened her own private law practice in Stafford in 1985. In addition to his practice, she has worked as a Kiowa County Attorney, Pratt City Public Defender, Pratt County Public Defender and Pawnee Rock Municipal Judge. She graduated from Washburn University School of Law.
  • Francis E. Meisenheimer is a judge on the Kingman Municipal Court. He is also a private practice lawyer and a former Assistant Reno County Attorney. He graduated from the University of Kansas School of Law.

Gov. Brownback will make the final appointment. The new judge will replace Robert J. Schmisseur, who retired on Jan. 3.[1]

UPDATE: Francis E. Meisenheimer was appointed on February 29, 2012.[2]
