Two judicial appointees approved by confirmation committee

Utah: Two pending judicial nominations were unanimously approved by the Utah Senate Judicial Confirmation Committee on August 9, 2010. Katherine Bernards-Goodman's appointment to the 3rd Judicial District and Clark McClellan's appointment to the 8th Judicial District will be voted on by the full Senate on August 18, 2010.
Bernards-Goodman is currently and assistant division chief for the Salt Lake County District Attorney's Office. She was nominated to fill a vacancy created by Judge Stephen Roth's promotion to the Utah Court of Appeals.
McClellan is a lawyer with the firm Allred & McClellan. He also works as a city prosecutor in Vernal and Roosevelt. If confirmed by the Senate, he will replace retiring Judge A. Lynn Payne.[1]
