Two new judges appointed to Massachusetts courts

Boston, Massachusetts: Gov. Deval Patrick announced two new judicial nominations on April 19, 2011. Daniel M. Wrenn was selected to serve on the Massachusetts Superior Court and Judith J. Phillips was chosen for the Juvenile Court of the counties of Franklin and Hampshire. Gov. Patrick stated, “Daniel Wrenn and Judith Phillips are very well-respected attorneys, with demonstrated expertise and commitment to the fair administration of justice and to their communities."

Daniel Wrenn is a Worcester lawyer specializing in medical malpractice, personal injury and workers’ compensation cases. He has worked in this position for over 23 years and is also a respected arbitrator and mediator. He received an undergraduate degree from Fairfield University (1983) and a law degree from Suffolk University Law School (1987). He was nominated to the Superior Court to replace former Judge Stephen E. Neel, who retired on January 31, 2011.

Judith Phillips currently works as a sole practitioner in Springfield, MA. She has previously worked as an attorney for the U.S. Department of Education, Office of Civil Rights, as an Assistant Attorney General and as Assistant Regional Counsel for the Massachusetts Department of Social Services. She received an undergraduate degree from the State University of New York at Albany (1985) and a law degree from the State University of New York at Buffalo Law School (1990). She was nominated to the Juvenile Court to replace former Judge Lillian Miranda, who retired on February 23, 2011.[1][2][3]
