Ty Harrell
Ty Harrell was a Democratic member of the North Carolina House of Representatives, representing District 41 from January 2007 until his resignation on September 20, 2009.
Harrell came under investigation when irregularities were noticed in his campaign finance reports. Along with an unusually large number of expenditures, Harrell's explanations for them included notations such as "candidate obligation," "volunteer recruitment" and "donor cultivation." The Board of Elections requested clarification on how money was spent and proof that it was for legitimate purposes.[1]
