My background is in education and mental health, previously serving as the Chief of Research and Statistics for Vermont's Department of Mental Health and currently as a researcher for Cognia (formally Measured Progress) focusing on student engagement and school improvement. I'm ready to put my professional and personal experiences to work for everyone in Dover. Serving as a State Representative gives me a chance to give back to the community that has given a lot to my family. Dover is facing some unique challenges and I'm happy to be the voice of all residents to ensure we're heard and recognized as we continue making our community one of the most desirable in the state.
  • All students need equal and unobstructed access to quality education. Families find themselves with the increased responsibility to provide their students an education and should have high-quality choices when it comes to their child's education. Public schools continue to be underfunded. Public charter are even more so. Homeschooling is an important and growing segment of education.
  • We've seen how we can surge medical care - mental health care should be no different. We made hospital beds appear literally overnight in parking lots, civic centers, boats - most of it going unused. We need a fraction of a percent of that for MH cases, there's no longer an excuse - ERs should be empty of crisis patients within hours, not WEEKS.
  • New Hampshire is one family, yet there is room for everyone to recognize the inequities when it comes to access to health care, education, justice reform, emergency services, and many more areas. Dover's voice will lead the way on these issues in Concord.
My children becoming school-aged has greatly influenced my decision to run and focus on issues at the crossroads of education and mental health. There are some student still being left behind or treated differently because of background, school attended, or other characteristics outside their control. This vulnerable population needs the strongest advocates.

Cannabis reform should also be at the top of the legislative agenda. Freedom of recreational use would positively impact many individuals, reduce crime, and provide a smart approach to taxation that allows for a much-needed tax base for NH residents.
