My name is Tyler Fox. I currently serve on the Planning Commission and the Zoning Board of Appeals for the City of Troy. I have a Master's Degree in Public Administration and I am currently the Purchasing Coordinator for the City of Sterling Heights. My wife Audrey and I bought our home in district in 2022. Since joining this community I have had the opportunity to immerse myself in the deep cultural heritage of our area. I live right next to the Polish Cultural Center, and a short drive from the Chaldean Community Center. In Lansing, I am hoping to improve our community's power grid, and put a stop to the annual blackouts we all face.
  • It is time we put our foot down with DTE, and demand dramatic reinvestment in our power grid to prevent the regular blackouts our district experiences.
  • Housing in our community has become incredibly expensive for both homeowners and renters. We need to repeal the State's ban on municipalities implementing rent control, and we need to work with local communities to remove restrictive zoning. By doing this we can increase housing supply, and lower costs across the community.
  • In 2016, I suffered from a stoke that has luckily left me with little long term damage. However, this incident changed the way I view healthcare, and I have watched while my "pre-existing condition" is on the chopping block whenever Republicans get into power. I say enough is enough, and I will never stop fighting to ensure medical costs are affordable.
Energy production, housing and zoning, healthcare regulations, and childcare accessibility.
My first job was working at my parent's restaurant in Lake Orion, Michigan. We did not have a lot of money growing up, but the brief period we owned this business (2009-2014) was our most financially secure. I worked hard, and my love for corned-beef ruben's has lived on.
I think having a thorough understanding of government is key to ensuring that policies are successfully implemented. Throughout my career in the public sector I have seen how state policies can impact the day-to-day of municipal government, and I believe this understanding is what uniquely qualifies me for this position.
We need to repeal the emergency manager law. It has been a disaster for Michigan communities, and has proven to be incredibly harmful for workers in our state.
