My name is Tyler Frederick, and I am running for Clerk of the Delaware County Municipal Court to restore respect, integrity, and fiscal responsibility to the office. As a pharmacist, I have dedicated my career to helping people navigate the healthcare system with professionalism, precision, and care—qualities that are sorely lacking in the current Clerk’s Office. I believe that every citizen and employee deserves to be treated with dignity, and I am committed to creating a workplace culture that values its employees and provides the highest level of service to our community.
This election is about accountability. Under the current leadership, the Clerk’s Office has been plagued by lawsuits, high turnover, and wasteful spending, all at the taxpayers' expense. Delaware County deserves better. I will ensure the office runs efficiently, operates transparently, and serves the public—not personal interests. It’s time for new leadership that prioritizes respect, fairness, and responsible governance.
- Restoring Respect & Integrity – Every employee and every citizen who interacts with the Clerk’s Office deserves to be treated with dignity, professionalism, and fairness. I will foster a positive work environment and ensure the office serves the community—not personal interests.
- Ending Wasteful Spending – Taxpayer dollars should be used efficiently, not wasted on lawsuits and mismanagement. I will run a fiscally responsible office that eliminates unnecessary costs and operates transparently.
- Putting the Community First – The Clerk’s Office should work for the people, not against them. I will prioritize accessibility, efficiency, and accountability, ensuring that everyone receives fair and equal treatment under the law.
Everyone deserves to be treated with respect and dignity, especially in the workplace. No one should have to endure harassment or fear retaliation for doing their job. I believe in creating safe, supportive work environments where employees are valued. I also stand with the working class—the backbone of our country. We need more good, middle-class jobs that provide stability and opportunity for families. Government should serve the people, not itself, and elected officials must be held accountable. Public service is a responsibility, not a privilege, and I am committed to restoring trust by ensuring our institutions work for everyone—not just the well-connected.
The Clerk of the Municipal Court is the backbone of the local justice system. It ensures that legal documents are properly recorded, cases are processed efficiently, and the public has access to critical court services. A well-run Clerk’s office supports the integrity of the judicial process, making justice more accessible and fair for everyone. Unlike other government positions, this office directly impacts both legal professionals and everyday citizens, making efficiency, professionalism, and respect essential to its success.
An elected official should embody integrity, accountability, and a commitment to public service. They should treat everyone with respect and dignity, ensuring that government serves the people—not personal or political interests. Transparency, fiscal responsibility, and a dedication to fairness are also critical. Leaders should listen to their constituents, make informed decisions, and always prioritize the best interests of the community over personal gain.
I believe the qualities that would make me a successful officeholder include my strong sense of integrity, problem-solving skills, and commitment to public service. As a pharmacist, I've spent my career focused on helping people navigate complex systems, which has taught me the importance of clear communication, attention to detail, and a patient-centered approach. These are skills that directly translate to the Clerk's office, where clear, efficient processes and a respect for people’s needs are crucial.
Additionally, I am deeply committed to fairness and accountability. I believe in treating everyone with respect and working to build an environment where both employees and constituents feel valued. I am also a problem-solver who is not afraid to challenge the status quo when something isn’t working. Throughout my life, I’ve demonstrated the ability to listen, adapt, and take action to make things better. Whether it's in my role as a community volunteer, a pharmacist, or now as a candidate, I consistently strive to find solutions that benefit everyone involved.
Lastly, I bring a strong work ethic and a dedication to continuous improvement. I have always valued hard work, and I’m committed to using that drive to ensure the Clerk’s office is efficient, respectful, and responsive to the needs of Delaware County residents. I’m ready to lead with the integrity, transparency, and respect that this office deserves. The Clerk of the Municipal Court is responsible for maintaining accurate and accessible court records, ensuring efficient case management, and providing excellent public service. This office must operate with transparency and fiscal responsibility while ensuring that all individuals—regardless of background—receive fair treatment when interacting with the court system. Additionally, it’s crucial to foster a professional and respectful workplace for employees, as a well-run office benefits both the justice system and the community it serves.
The legacy I would like to leave is one of positive change and community transformation. I want to be remembered as a leader who brought respect, accountability, and efficiency to the Clerk’s office, making it a place where both employees and residents felt valued. I aspire to be a catalyst for change—someone who didn't just accept the status quo but worked tirelessly to make things better for the people of Delaware County.
Ultimately, I hope that when people look back on my time in office, they see someone who made a tangible difference in their lives, whether through improved services, better government practices, or simply by fostering a culture of respect and dignity for all. I want my legacy to be one of trust—where people can count on their public officials to put the community first, act with integrity, and always strive to make a positive impact. If I can be remembered as someone who helped create a more just, efficient, and inclusive environment for everyone in Delaware County, I will consider that the greatest achievement of my career.
The first historical event I clearly remember was the election of Barack Obama in 2008 when I was 12 years old. I stayed up late with my family, eagerly watching the returns and feeling the excitement in the air. While I have faint memories of 9/11 and the financial crash of 2008, Obama’s election left the most lasting impression on me. His message of hope, unity, and change resonated deeply, and I could sense the significance of that night. It felt like the country was turning a page and entering a new chapter.
I remember being struck by Obama’s message that anyone, regardless of their background, could rise to the highest office in the land. It was a powerful idea, and it inspired me to believe that change was not only possible but essential. The energy of that night sparked my interest in politics and public service, helping me understand the importance of leadership that serves the people.
Though I wasn’t involved in politics at the time, that moment solidified my belief in the values of equality, fairness, and public service. It shaped my desire to be part of a system where government works for everyone, not the other way around. Watching Obama make history taught me that government should reflect the people it serves, and those values have stayed with me throughout my life. It’s this belief in progress and unity that motivates me today to serve and work toward a community where hope and fairness are the standard. My first job was working at my church during sporting events throughout high school. I did a variety of tasks, including running the concession stand, managing the entrance gate, keeping score, and helping with clean-up after events. It was a great way to earn some extra money, but more importantly, it taught me valuable lessons at an early age. I learned the importance of hard work and how much value there is in contributing to the community. It also gave me a solid understanding of money—how to manage it, save for the future, and use it responsibly. The job not only helped me financially but also allowed me to form lifelong connections and friendships that I still cherish today. It was an experience that shaped my work ethic and sense of responsibility.
My favorite book is The Last Lecture by Randy Pausch. This book deeply resonates with me because of its powerful message about living life to its fullest and making the most of every opportunity. One of my favorite quotes from the book is "Luck is when preparation meets opportunity," which has inspired me to always work hard and stay prepared, so that when opportunities arise, I'm ready to seize them.
In many ways, this quote has shaped my approach to life and work. I’ve always believed that success doesn’t just happen by chance—it’s about setting yourself up for success and being ready when the right moments come.
Beyond that, The Last Lecture has reinforced my desire to live a life worth living. It reminds me that the true value in life lies not in personal success, but in the positive impact we have on others. When my time comes, I want to be able to look back and say that I made a difference in my community and in the lives of those around me. I hope my legacy will be one of integrity, respect, and the kind of leadership that inspires others to live their best lives too. The most important skills and expertise for the Clerk of the Municipal Court are strong organizational abilities, attention to detail, and a deep understanding of administrative processes. The Clerk must be able to manage large volumes of legal documents, case records, and financial transactions with precision and accuracy. Strong communication skills are essential, as the Clerk interacts with the public, attorneys, judges, and other government officials regularly. A commitment to transparency and accountability is also crucial, ensuring that the office operates with integrity and provides fair access to information for all stakeholders.
Additionally, the Clerk should be proficient in modern technology, as the ability to implement digital systems and improve efficiency can greatly enhance the accessibility and functionality of the office. A background in customer service or public administration can be beneficial, as it fosters a client-centered approach and helps create a positive experience for everyone who interacts with the Clerk’s office. Lastly, the Clerk must possess strong leadership and management skills to effectively lead staff, create a supportive work environment, and ensure the smooth functioning of the office day-to-day.
Financial transparency and government accountability are essential for maintaining public trust. Taxpayers deserve to know how their money is being spent, and government offices should operate with efficiency and integrity—not wastefulness and secrecy. Unfortunately, my opponent has failed in this regard.
To uncover just how poorly the Clerk’s office is being run and how toxic the work environment has become, I had to submit open records requests to obtain documents that should have been readily accessible to the public. What I found was shocking—excessive spending, mismanagement, and multiple lawsuits stemming from a cruel and hostile work environment. This reckless behavior has cost taxpayers hundreds of thousands of dollars, all because my opponent refuses to lead with respect and decency.
If elected, I will run the Clerk’s office with full transparency, ensuring financial accountability and a commitment to serving the community—not personal interests. I will work to restore trust in this office by putting an end to wasteful spending, ensuring public records are truly public, and fostering a workplace culture based on professionalism and respect.
