Tyler Ivanoff from Shishmaref. I teach 4th Grade. I have 6 children with my beautiful Fiancé Amber Fernandez. I’m running to Represent our people in Western Alaska.
  • I’m from Rural Alaska, was born and raised in District 39. I live a subsistence lifestyle, and if elected I plan on protecting our lifestyle for future generations. This includes finding solutions to help our salmon populations rebound.
  • I’m here to protect the Permanent Fund Dividend. My opponent has voted to reduce the PFD in the past. If he did it once, what’s stopping him from changing it again.
  • I plan on giving a voice for our region. If elected I will work hard for our people. We need more Representatives from our villages, and by electing me into office it may show others to get the courage to step up as well.
Food Security, education, and jobs for our people in rural Alaska. We need to improve our infrastructure in our communities. Communities like mine still have no running water. If we get half of our PFD taken away, why can’t the legislature fund more projects for our communities? I am to make this known while supporting you down in Juneau.
I look up to all the Elders that lived in my community of Elim. My grandparents as well. And lastly my Parents who showed me the importance of hard work and living a subsistence lifestyle.
No, but live a year in a village and you will understand just a small glimpse of our lifestyle.
Serving the people that voted them into office and putting them first rather than Special interests of the individual.
To show everyone in Rural Alaska, especially the villages that you too can be a leader. If I can do it, so can you. Get out and make a difference.
Summer of 2000. Working at the Unalakleet Cannery before going to college.
A close working relationship to benefit the People of Alaska.
Balancing the budget. Not overspending and taking from the PFD.
No. We have a lot of great leaders in Rural Alaska that can sit in a seat in Legislature.
Mike Cronk is a legislator that I think is honest and Represents his people well.
An elder told me they weren’t able to get one salmon that summer. This happened to be the first house that I campaigned at in 2022 while visiting another community. The elder was distraught, but was happy to hear that I was interested in representing her to share her story.
I think you can only do so much. With the legislature changing the PFD and the Governor vetoing the PFD in 2016, I don’t think it’s right. This was not at the wishes of the whole state of Alaska. Power can be misused.
Education bill to help our paraprofessionals become teachers. Our paraprofessionals are not fully supported, and in the summer months are often unemployed. At the same time cannot collect unemployment because they technically work 3/4 of a year. That needs to be changed. We need to support our paraprofessionals.
House Finance, House Rules, Education, community and regional affairs
It is important for our government to be transparent with what is going on financially.
