Career
From 2007 to 2008, Jones was lowcountry field director for former U.S. Sen. John Edwards' (D) campaign for President.[5] From February to August 2008, Jones was political director for Linda Ketner's (D) campaign for the South Carolina's 1st Congressional District seat in the United States House of Representatives.
In 2008, Jones began work at McIntosh Consulting, LLC, a political consulting firm founded by Lachlan McIntosh in Charleston, S.C. From 2008 to 2009, Jones served as executive director of the South Carolina House Democratic caucus. He has continued to serve as associate director, political director and spokesman for the caucus since 2009.
In March 2011, Jones co-founded S.C. Forward Progress, a 501(c)(4) organization designed, according to CNN's Peter Hamby, "...to draw attention to what they call the 'crazy' elements of the Republican base that hold significant sway over who the next GOP presidential nominee will be."[6]
Paul Bowers of the Charleston City Newspaper called Jones "...of South Carolina's most prominent Democratic operatives."[7] Jones was named to Campaign and Elections magazine's "Top 500 Influencers" list in 2012.[8]
