An effort to recall Village President Tyler Royce did not qualify for the ballot in White Pigeon, Michigan.[1][2]
Recall supporters
Jerry Kash initiated the recall campaign on June 2, 2022.[3] The recall petition gave the following grounds for recall: "Ethics. Using village equipment and employees to do personal work outside of village."[1]
Recall opponents
Royce alleged that Kash had started the recall campaign in retaliation for his business's being cited for several town code violations.[3]

The St. Joseph County Election Commission approved the petition for circulation in a clarity hearing held on June 16, 2022.[1]
For a recall election to have been scheduled, organizers needed to collect 108 signatures from registered town voters.[3] Organizers submitted 126 signatures in August 2022.[4] The recall did not qualify for the ballot after only 105 of the submitted signatures were validated.[2]
