Tyrona Dewitt
Tyrona Dewitt is a magistrate judge for the Superior Court of the District of Columbia. Chief Judge Robert E. Morin appointed Dewitt to the court in October 2016.[1]
Education
Dewitt received a B.A. in political science from Rutgers University. She obtained a J.D., summa cum laude, from the University of the District of Columbia, David A Clark School of Law. During her legal studies, Dewitt served as managing editor of the District of Columbia Law Review and received the Earl H. Davis Advocacy Award.[1]
Career
Dewitt was a law clerk to the Hon. Judith Bartnoff. Her professional experience includes working as an assistant attorney general in the family services division of the Office of the Attorney general for the District of Columbia for 12 years. She also worked in the mental health section of the attorney general's office.[1]
