Tyrone Carter (Democratic Party) is a member of the Michigan House of Representatives, representing District 1. He assumed office on January 1, 2023. His current term ends on January 1, 2027.
Carter is running for election to the Detroit City Council to represent District 6 in Michigan. He is on the ballot in the general election on November 4, 2025. The primary for this office on August 5, 2025, was canceled.
Biography
Tyrone Carter was born in Detroit, Michigan.[1] Carter graduated from Southwestern High School.[2] He earned a B.S. in management from Central Michigan University.[3] Carter's career experience includes working as a consultant with TLC Management and Consulting, an executive lieutenant with the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office, an assistant director of campus police with the Wayne County Community College District, and a community involvement specialist with Southwestern High School.[1][2][3]

Elections for the Michigan House of Representatives took place in 2014. A primary election was held on August 5, 2014, and a general election was held on November 4, 2014. The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was April 22, 2014. Stephanie Chang defeated Tyrone Carter and five others in the Democratic primary. Tairia Bridges was unopposed in the Republican primary. Chang defeated Bridges in the general election.[7][8][9][10]
