Tyrone H. Belcher, Sr.
Tyrone H. Belcher, Sr. represented District 1 on the Birmingham City School Board. He was first elected to the seat in 2009 and lost his re-election bid on August 27, 2013. His term expired on October 22, 2013.
Biography
Belcher earned an associate degree in business from Lawson State Community College. He worked as a supervisor with the U.S. Postal Service prior to his retirement. Belcher achieved the rank of Staff Sergeant when serving in the U.S. Army.[1]

2013
Tyrone H. Belcher, Sr. unsuccessfully sought re-election against challengers Sherman Collins, Jr., Douglas Ragland and Jerry Tate on August 27, 2013. Green Calhoun, Jr. withdrew from the race on August 5, 2013.[2] Since no candidate received a majority of the vote, the top two candidates continued on to a runoff election held on October 8, 2013.[3]
