Cosper ran in the 2012 election for New Mexico House of Representatives District 18. He ran unopposed in the Republican primary on June 5, 2012. Incumbent Gail Chasey (D) defeated Damion D. Cruzz in the Democratic primary. He was defeated by Chasey in the general election, which took place on November 6, 2012.[1][2]
