United States District Court for the District of Georgia

The United States District Court for the District of Georgia was created by Congress as part of the Judiciary Act of 1789, with one judgeship authorized for the district. Georgia was one judicial district until 1848, when Congress divided the state into Northern and Southern Districts.[1]
