United States District Court for the District of Iowa

The United States District Court for the District of Iowa was created by Congress in 1845, with one judgeship authorized for the district. Iowa was one judicial district until 1882, when Congress divided the state into Northern and Southern Districts, with one judgeship authorized for each.[1]
