"We Need a Revolution of Values" - MLK

Without a rention plan for longtime residents and small businesses DC will continue to become more unaffordable and the disparities in wealth will continue to grow. We need legislation that forces the H.U.D. guideline that suggests that no one should have to pay more than 30% of their income, plus utilities, in housing. For homeowners and small business owners, their property tax should be capped at a permanent fixed rate at the time of purchase to prevent it from being used as a displacement tool.

“We are the ones we have been waiting for”

-June Jordan

We must begin to address the root causes of crime and violence. America has the largest prison system in the entire world. DC has more police than any city in America per capita. Clearly, these draconian, for profit, reactionary policies do not serve as a solution to prevent crime and violence.

We must recognize environmental causes, i.e, poverty, illiteracy, lead exposure, malnutrition, etc., are all contributing factors. Address these issues and you will have effectively mediated violent behavior as simple as denying too much sugar to children.

You want DC Statehood or No Federal Income Taxes?

DC pays more taxes per capita than most states. Whereas, Guam and Puerto Rico share the same non-voting status as the Nation's Capital pays none. Taxation without Representation should not be a status, but an unacceptable insult that shouldn't be tolerated.

I would personally prefer 4 so you're not constantly campaigning and focused on the work rather than trying to raise money constantly. That type of culture breeds more corruption.

A man with a $100k a year job suffered a divorce. The expense of maintaining two households forced him to donate blood for cash to make ends meet. He broke down crying when his son asked him about the "tracks" in his arms. Even more shocking, he claims everyone in line selling blood has a job.
