The 2012 U.S. House of Representatives elections in Connecticut took place on November 6, 2012. Voters elected five candidates to serve in the U.S. House, one from each of the state's five congressional districts.

Primary: Connecticut is one of 16 states to use an open primary system. However, there is a three month waiting period if switching parties.[1]
Voter registration: Voters may register in person to vote in the primary up until noon the day before the primary.[1] (Information about registering to vote)

According to the New York Times race ratings in October 2012, one of the five districts is considered to be "in play", District 5.[2][3]
The Center for Voting and Democracy (Fairvote) projected that Democrats would win four districts while Republicans would win none. It did not make a projection for the remaining district.[4]
Primary competitiveness
Connecticut had the 41st most competitive congressional primaries in 2012, with 30% of major party primaries having been contested (3 out of 10). The national average was 54.31%.
Four U.S. House incumbents ran for re-election in Connecticut in 2012. 0 of those 4 (0%) faced a primary challenger. Nationwide, 200 out of the 386 incumbents seeking re-election faced a primary challenger (51.81%).
