The 2012 U.S. House of Representatives elections in Idaho took place on November 6, 2012. Voters elected two candidates to serve in the U.S. House, one from each of the state's two congressional districts.

Primary: Idaho has a closed primary system, in which the selection of a party's candidates in an election is limited to registered party members.
Voter registration: Voters had to register to vote in the primary by April 20. For the general election, the voter registration deadline was October 12.[1] Voters could also register at the polls on election day, provided they brought an acceptable form of proof of residency.[2]

The Center for Voting and Democracy (Fairvote) projected that Republicans would win both seats.[3]
Primary competitiveness
Idaho tied with Hawaii, Alaska, Montana, Rhode Island, and Washington for having the most competitive congressional primaries in 2012, with 100% of major party primaries having been contested (4 out of 4). The national average was 54.31%.
Two U.S. House incumbents sought re-election in Idaho in 2012. 2 of those 2 (100%) faced a primary challenger. Nationwide, 200 out of the 386 incumbents seeking re-election faced a primary challenger (51.81%).
