The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was June 2, 2014. Larry Murakami defeated Uriah R. Nalikak in the Democratic primary, while District 3 incumbent Steve M. Thompson was unopposed in the Republican primary. Thompson defeated Murakami in the general election.[1][2][3][4]
