Mike understands that standing on principle while getting things done is more important than just grabbing headlines. No stranger to hard work, Mike grew up in a single-parent household, working to put himself through college at BYU and later medical school and law school. Glenn J. Wright (D)
i will vote to codify the Roe and Casey decisions
America First is America Alone. Our Alliances must be supported, cultivated and expanded to protect US interests and individual freedom. Support for foreign despots is unacceptable.

Restoring civility and common sense in Washington is essential for progress, emphasizing principled stands and collaboration to cut wasteful spending and curb government overreach. Principled leadership must prioritize policies that benefit American families over special interests, focusing on economic growth to support businesses and make living more affordable for Utahns.
Sensible tax policies, energy independence, and reducing bureaucratic hurdles are key to fostering a conducive environment for innovation and job creation. Healthcare reform should prioritize patient needs, expanding Health Savings Accounts, and increasing transparency to lower costs and improve accessibility.
Education reform is crucial, with a focus on returning control to local communities, directly benefiting students and teachers, and empowering parents.
Protecting Utah public lands from federal overreach and restoring control to local communities. While boosting our energy production to achieve American energy independence and dominance on the global stage.
These challenges demand leadership committed to the welfare and prosperity of the United States, ready to bring about meaningful change and secure a promising future for all Americans.
Glenn J. Wright (D)
During his service in the state legislature, my opponent voted for a near complete ban on abortions, bathroom bills, book banning, restrictions on how teachers can talk about uncomfortable aspects of US history like slavery, the "trail of tears" lynchings, internment camps and racial prejudice. He supports a presidential candidate who tried to over throw the government, who stole classified documents, calls our war dead "losers and suckers" and supports a war criminal who would rebuild the Iron Curtain. My generation lost 58,000 in war, some of them my friends and squadron mates. I flew in compromised missions and know of people killed because of blown intelligence. No one who supports such an individual should be elected to a federal office. Four decades of trickle down economics has created a massive transfer of wealth that has made housing unaffordable for our younger generations and has increased our national deficit. We must reverse those policies.
Climate change is endangering our forests, air and water and we must move aggressively to reduce our carbon footprint. Transitioning to carbon free electrical energy for transportation and HVAC will slow climate change, improve our air and water quality and move the US rapidly toward energy independence.

Prioritizing Utah’s Families, Businesses, and Communities: Mike will always place the interests of Utah above all, focusing on policies that support the state’s families, enhance local businesses, and strengthen communities. His dedication to principled leadership is centered on representing Utah’s values and needs in Washington, D.C., free from the sway of external pressures and interests.
Passing Term Limits and Reducing Lobbyist Power: Mike will champion the passage of term limits for Congress to foster fresh perspectives and prevent career politicians from prioritizing their tenure over the people’s needs. He also proposes stricter regulations on lobbying activities, particularly targeting the influence of lobbyists representing foreign and special interests, to ensure policy-making serves the public good.
Restoring Integrity and Accountability to Washington: Mike is steadfast in his commitment to ethical governance, targeting significant ethics reforms to lessen the grip of special interests on our political system. He will advocate for a mandatory cooling-off period for lawmakers before transitioning into lobbying roles and insists on complete transparency in congressional stock trading, ensuring that the focus of elected officials remains on the needs and welfare of Utahns and Americans, not the agendas of special interests.

- Safe and Solid ratings indicate that one party has a clear edge and the race is not competitive.
- Likely ratings indicate that one party has a clear edge, but an upset is possible.
- Lean ratings indicate that one party has a small edge, but the race is competitive.[4]
- Toss-up ratings indicate that neither party has an advantage.
Race ratings are informed by a number of factors, including polling, candidate quality, and election result history in the race's district or state.[5][6][7]

Post-filing deadline analysis
The following analysis covers all U.S. House districts up for election in Utah in 2024. Information below was calculated on May 26, 2024, and may differ from information shown in the table above due to candidate replacements and withdrawals after that time.
Thirteen candidates ran for Utah’s four U.S. House districts, including three Democrats and 10 Republicans. That’s 3.25 candidates per district. There were 3.25 candidates per district in 2022, 3.75 candidates per district in 2020, and 2.5 in 2018.
The 3rd Congressional District was the only open district in Utah in 2024, tying with 2020 and 2014 for the most this decade.
Incumbent John Curtis (R-03) did not run for re-election because he ran for the U.S. Senate.
Six candidates—one Democrat and five Republicans—ran for the open 3rd Congressional District, the most candidates who ran for a seat in Utah in 2024.
Three primaries—all Republican—were contested in 2024. Four primaries were contested in 2022, three primaries were contested in 2020, and two were in 2018.
Two incumbents—Blake Moore (R-01) and Celeste Maloy (R-02)—were in contested primaries in Utah in 2024. That’s less than the four incumbents in contested primaries in 2022 but more than the zero incumbents in contested primaries in 2020.
The 2nd Congressional District was guaranteed to Republicans because no Democrats appeared on the ballot. Republicans filed to run in every congressional district, meaning none were guaranteed to Democrats.Partisan Voter Index
Heading into the 2024 elections, based on results from the 2020 and 2016 presidential elections, the Cook Partisan Voter Index for this district was R+13. This meant that in those two presidential elections, this district's results were 13 percentage points more Republican than the national average. This made Utah's 3rd the 106th most Republican district nationally.[8]
