Utah: Judge George M. Harmond recently became the newest member to the Utah Judicial Council, where he was one of three judges selected to serve a three-year term.[1]

Christine M. Durham, the Utah Supreme Court Chief Justice, is the chair of the Utah Judicial Council. The council consists of fourteen members, and is the policy-making body for the Utah State Judiciary. The Council is responsible for setting standards for court facilities, various support services, and for judicial performance.[1]

Other judges joining Judge Harmond include Judge David Mortensen, and Judge John L. Sandberg, in addition to Juvenile Court Judge Kimberly K. Hornak, who will serve as vice chair of the Utah Judicial Council. They replace Judges Donald Eyre, Michael Westfall, and G. A. Petry who have fulfilled their three-year terms on the council.[1]
