Utah Senator votes against all of Obama judicial nominees

Utah: Utah's freshman senator, Mike Lee, is making waves in the capital as a consistent opponent to President Obama's judicial nominations. Lee is a Republican elected in 2010. The senator believes that the president has helped to "fundamentally change the balance of power between the president and the Senate."[1] He reaches this conclusion following the holiday-time recess appointment of Richard Cordray to led the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.
As a member of the Senate Judiciary Committee, Lee has more influence than an average first-term senator, since he can help stall confirmations. Since Lee began his crusade, the number of vacancies on the U.S. District Courts and U.S. Courts of Appeals has remained steady at around 9%.[2]
