The Judicial Update

April 15, 2011

South Dakota: Governor Dennis Daugaard has appointed a replacement First Judicial Circuit Judge Arthur Rusch, who will be retiring on June 8. Daugaard appointed Cheryle Gering, a private attorney at the Sioux Falls law firm of Davenport, Evans, Hurwitz & Smith, to fill the seat. Of the appointment, Daugaard said, "I am pleased that Cheryle has agreed to become a circuit judge. Her many years of legal experience, as well as her diligence, common sense and even temperament, will serve the citizens well in southeastern South Dakota."[1]
