Val Flores
Valentina Flores (Democratic Party) (also known as Val) was a member of the Colorado State Board of Education, representing Colorado's 1st Congressional District. She assumed office in 2015. She left office on January 12, 2021.
Flores (Democratic Party) ran for re-election to the Colorado State Board of Education to represent Colorado's 1st Congressional District. She did not appear on the ballot for the Democratic primary on June 30, 2020.
Biography
A recipient of a bachelor's degree from the University of Texas and a master's degree and doctorate from the University of Houston, Flores has taught at the K-12 and university level in both Texas and Colorado. Flores' teaching experience includes professorships at the University of Colorado at Boulder, the University of Northern Colorado, the University of Texas at Austin, the University of Utah at Salt Lake City, and the University of Nevada at Reno. Flores has also worked at the Texas Department of Education and taught English as a second language in the Denver public school system.[1]
