Valerie Pels
Valerie Pels is a judge for the New York County Family Court in New York. She was appointed to this position in January 2013 by Mayor Michael Bloomberg.[1]
Education
Pels received her undergraduate degree from Duke University. She earned her J.D. from Yale Law School.[1]
Career
Before her appointment to the bench, Pels served in the Juvenile Rights Division of the Legal Aid Society. She also worked as principal law clerk in the Youth Part of the New York Supreme Court, and in the Integrated Domestic Violence Part of the Supreme Court.[1]
