My personal interests in the board and serving are promoting the technical school, equity in education, and ensuring a scientific and data-driven approach. My husband is in the trades and Freeport is the home of many trades companies. Fewer young people are entering the trades and promoting this education path as a viable future for our kids is really important to me. Secondly, I am a lifelong Mainer and have solely been educated using public education. A first-generation college student in my family, I received aid via TRIO programs and am keenly interested in all our students getting the best possible education for their needs, regardless of finances, identity, or abilities. Finally, as a scientist by trade, I believe in science and science education and am able to read and understand data models and statistics.
  • Provide the best possible education for all students' needs, regardless of finances, identity, or abilities.
  • Promote and support a lifelong vision of learning and education, with an eye to the future adults and tools required to meet that goal.
  • Encourage inclusion, kindness, and a strong community.
Obviously, education, but specifically STEM and the trades.
I worked as a waitress at a local House of Pizza in high school. I had up to three jobs at any given time in college and have had at least two jobs at any given time in my adult life. I currently hold two separate job codes from my employer.
Setting policy that best meets the needs of the community's children.
I was a part of TRIO as a high school student and was a first-generation college graduate in my family.
