Vanessa A. Hopkins
Vanessa A. Hopkins was a judge of the Cook County 1st Subcircuit in Illinois.[1] She was first elected in 1996.[2] She initially filed to run for retention in 2014, but withdrew on August 21, 2014. She retired from the bench on November 30, 2014.[3]
Education
Hopkins earned a B.S. in marketing from Chicago State University in 1986. She went on to receive an MBA from Roosevelt University in 1988 and a J.D. from Northern Illinois University College of Law.[4]
Career
Prior her judicial election in 1996, Hopkins was an associate at the law firm of J.L. Jones & Associates in Chicago. She also held various teaching positions at several learning institutions (Northeastern Illinois University, Kishwaukee College, DeVry Institution of Technology and Roosevelt University) in several subjects (management, economics, marketing and business law).[4]
