Vanessa Agee Jackson was a circuit court judge for the Fourteenth Circuit Court, which presides over Coffee County in Tennessee. She was appointed to the court by former Governor Phil Bredesen on April 21, 2009, to replace the late Judge John W. Rollins. She was elected to the court in 2010 and was re-elected on August 7, 2014. She retired from the court in 2022.[1][2][3]

Primary: She ran unopposed in the Democratic primary on May 6, 2014.
General: She won without opposition in the general election on August 7, 2014. [4][5][3]

2010

Jackson was elected to the Fourteenth Circuit Court. She defeated Mark A. Williams in the election, winning 54.6% of the vote.[2]

Education

Jackson received both her undergraduate and J.D. degrees from the University of Tennessee in 1976 and 1978, respectively.[6]

Career

Jackson began her career in 1979 as the in-house counsel for First Federal Savings & Loan Association in Tullahoma, Tennessee, and worked there until 1980. She also practiced law with the firm of Henry & McCord until 1993. In December 1993, Jackson joined the firm of Hull, Ray, Rieder, Ewell, Lane & Ridner, P.A., where she practiced until her judicial appointment to the Fourteenth Circuit Court in 2009.[1][6]
