Born and raised in Jefferson County, I grew up in a working-class family in Arvada. I watched

my dad struggle with alcoholism the first 16 years of my life and witnessed domestic violence on a weekly basis. At 16, I learned I had a voice, I spoke up, I paid the price. The system did not work for me. Unable to afford dual living situations, I was in a foster home, moved to yet a fourth school for my 11 th grade year. I dropped out of high school, left home at 18, and the story does not get better there for years. Today, I am a mother of four, married to my best friend from 8 th grade at Mandalay Middle School, Dave, and have currently have more pets than children. This May, I graduated (with honors LOL) from FRCC and hope to continue that path and pursue my education in Social Work. I am running for office because I am NOT the perfect politician, I am human. I have made mistakes; I have had a world of life experiences. I know the issues families face because of those shared experiences. My passion has led to my purpose and plans to advocate for legislation that can address Mental Health, School Safety, and Education, along with Growth and Transportation. These are issues that matter to families not just in Jefferson County, but all of Colorado. I plan to

fight FOR THE PEOPLE!
  • I will work to assure Mental Health resources are accessible and affordable to all of Colorado
  • We need to have a realistic discussion about school culture and educational opportunities. As a mother of four I am the best equipped candidate to advocate for the kids in my district.
  • Prioritizing state budget to address growing infrastructure and transportation needs of Colorado
As the mother of a child with mental health needs, I am passionate to assure we meet the growing issues with mental health for both our youth and adults in Colorado.
All those who choose to stay in the fight. We have so many hurting and broken people in our community that make the choice every day to show up. We have neighbors that witness injustices every day and step up to call it out. We have men and women, children, teens, and veterans that use their experiences to advocate for others because they know what it is like to feel isolated, struggle with self-harm, and want to not just survive but thrive. These are my HEROS, I look up to them and will go and fight for them.
Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. When the policy is based on the foundation of our founding, we can always find common ground and will always do what is in the best interest of the people. "When people fear the GOVERNMENT, there is tyranny. When the government fears the PEOPLE, there is LIBERTY" - Thomas Jefferson
Grit. Long nights and heated discussions are a part of the Colorado legislature. I grew up in a working-class family and rarely had anything just handed to me. I learned early on in life that hard work was necessary and respect is earned, not given. I possess the ability to see beyond the here and now, look pragmatically and think creatively in order to bring solutions. Grit is not something you can learn in a book or take a class in college, you are born with it. Ladies and gentlemen, I have it.
Challenger Space Shuttle. I was in 2nd grade at Thompsom Elementary. We were watching the launch live, for weeks maybe even months we had planned every activity and lesson plan around this event. We had teachers in space this was going to be so cool (because who didn't jokingly want to send their teacher to the moon), and then it happened. I know I did not understand it at the time. There was no evil, no one to blame. The image of the explosion way up in the sky stays with me to this day.
I worked for Aramark concessions at Coors Field and old Mile High. I started in spring and stayed through the end of the football season. Unlike most teens, I did not want the job at the mall, I could watch my local sports teams and work, life was great. I rode the bus from Westy to downtown every game day at age 15, and like to think I helped the teams to vicotry. To this day, I am so appreciative of the work it takes the grill the peppers to perfection before placing them on my Thunder Dog.
"Livin la Vida Loco" - Ricky Martin. I love my 90's jams, at the gym and this song just wasn't quite what I needed on the elliptical, so I skipped it. Big mistake, I won't leave my brain.
I believe the best legislators are those who truly know and understand the needs of the district they are asking to represent. While I do believe it is up to every citizen to possess a level of civic knowledge and be aware of the rights made to protect them, our legislative body should be made up of a diverse and variance of men and women from across the state regardless of the previous experience. A representative may be just as effective in utilizing their life experience as opposed to a lifetime in politics.
Currently, our state faces a 3.3 BILLION dollar shortfall. Like my family when our budget is short, we have some hard discussions to hold and crucial decisions to make. State governments should prioritize needs and not place the financial burden on taxpayers and businesses. Colorado's economic recovery is not one dimensional and will require representatives that can look at all sides of an issue.
Absolutely. As Representatives, we are not working in solitude. We are working FOR THE PEOPLE, all the people of Colorado. Collaboration and bipartisanship are the best routes to accomplish great things.
