Vanessa Williams was a 2013 candidate for the 21st Judicial District Court in Tangipahoa Parish, Louisiana.[1]

2013 election

Williams ran for election to the 21st Judicial District Court. Primary: She was defeated in the primary on October 19, 2013, receiving 14.0 percent of the vote.[2][3]

Education

Williams earned a B.S. in political science (with minors in English and history) from Middle Tennessee State University. She went on to earn her J.D. from the University of the District of Columbia.[4]

Career

At the time of her candidacy, Williams was an assistant district attorney for the 21st Judicial District Attorney Scott Perrillioux. As a private practice attorney, she gained experience in family law and domestic matters including divorce, custody, child support, alimony, community property, adoptions and protective orders.[4]
