Ventura Unified School District parcel tax, Measure Q (November 2012)
A Ventura Unified School District Parcel Tax, Measure Q ballot question was on the November 6, 2012, ballot for voters in the Ventura Unified School District in Ventura County, where it was approved.[1]
Measure Q creates a $59/year parcel tax. The tax will be in effect for 4 years. The tax will start in July 2013 and will generate about $2.7 million during each of the four years it will be in effect.
The school board of VUSD approved a budget of $133 million for the 2012-13 fiscal year. The district has approximately 1,450 full-time employees.
A two-thirds (66.67%) vote was needed for approval.
Voters in the district rejected a $96/year parcel tax measure, Measure H, which was on the November 2, 2010 ballot.

Support
- Trudy Tuttle, Superintendent of the Ventura Unified School District, supported Measure Q. She said, "It would be irresponsible for us not to go out again. Not only is the need still there, the need is greater."[2]
