Vermont Judge Sends Suspects Home

St. Johnsbury, Vermont: Vermont State Police troopers and U.S. Marshals recently arrested three people on charges of operating an illegal methamphetamine lab in northeastern Vermont. Two of the three suspects have been set free on bail, while the other suspect is being held without bail pending the trial.[1]

Suspects Charles "Tommy" Amerine and Mandy Johnson were ordered released on bail by a federal judge and ordered to go live with their fathers in Alabama. Amerine, who is 33 years old, will be living with his father in Bell City, Alabama, while Johnson, 30 years old, will be living with her father in Tarrant, Alabama. Suspect Carl Coker, 36 years old, is being held in Island Pond.[1]

Each suspect could be facing up to 20 years in federal prison if convicted of the crime.[1]
