Vern Swanson is a former Republican member of the Kansas House of Representatives, representing District 64 from 2006 to 2015. Swanson did not seek re-election in 2014.

2012
Swanson won re-election in the 2012 election for Kansas House of Representatives District 64. Swanson ran unopposed in the August 7 Republican primary and defeated Philip Breitmeyer (L) in the general election, which took place on November 6, 2012.[2][3]

2010
Swanson won re-election to the 64th District seat in 2010 with no opposition. In the August 3 primary election, Swanson defeated Republican primary opponent Michael Musselman by a margin of 1,553 to 1,236. The general election took place on November 2, 2010.[4]

On November 4, 2008, Swanson was re-elected to the 64th District seat in the Kansas House of Representatives with no opposition.[5] He raised $20,738 for his campaign.[6]

The Kansas Policy Institute, Kansas’s "first free market think tank," releases its legislator scorecard as a part of its Kansas Freedom Index for Kansas state representatives and senators once a year. The Score Card gives each legislator a score from 1%-100% based on how they voted in the prior legislative term on specific issues which the Kansas Policy Institute thought were pro-limited government policies.[7]
