This measure sought to renew the current fire levy which is set at a rate of $.10 per $100 of assessed property value for a further five years in order to continue to pay for fire protection services in the township.[2]

Text of measure

The question on the ballot:

A renewal of a tax for the benefit of Vernon Township for the purpose of fire protection at a rate not exceeding 1 mill for each one dollar of valuation, which amounts to $0.10 for each one hundred dollars of valuation, for five years, commencing in 2011, first due in calendar year 2012.[3]
