Vernon Township Township Fire & Operations Levy Measures, 2 (November 2011)
Two Vernon Township Township Fire & Operations Levy Measures were on the November 8, 2011 ballot in the township of Vernon which is in Crawford County.
Both measures were approved
The first measure sought to replace the current fire levy with one set at a rate of $.075 per $100 of assessed property value for a period of five years in order to further pay for fire protection and emergency medical services in the township.
The second measure sought to add to current expenses levy by a rate of $.075 per $100 of assessed property value for a period of five years in order to further pay for current expenses in the township.[1]

Text of measure
The question on the ballot:
First Measure: A replacement of a portion of an existing levy, being a reduction of 0.75 mill to constitute a tax for the benefit of Vernon Township for the purpose of protection against fire and ambulance and emergency medical services at a rate not exceeding 0.75 mill for each one dollar of valuation, which amounts to $0.075 for each one hundred dollars of valuation, for 5 years, commencing in 2011, first due in calendar year 2012.
Second Measure: An additional tax for the benefit of Vernon Township for the purpose of current operating expenses at a rate not exceeding 0.75 mill for each one dollar valuation, which amounts to $0.075 for each one hundred dollars of valuation, for 5 years, commencing in 2011, first due in calendar year 2012.[3] |
