|- There is a list of 1700 section-8 applicants waiting up to 7 years to receive the public service. The housing crisis is caused due to the shortage of housing available. To face the housing and homelessness crisis, its necessary to build enough homes to satisfy demand, that will stabilize the rents costs and home values without the need of rent control measurements
- The city of Pomona streets is deplorable. It is necessary to have a city owned construction company to create government-owned-homes for section -8 purposes, to restore the public areas, while we stimulate the local economy while producing jobs and we help Pomona’s business economy. The city of Pomona just privatized its 125 years owned trash company making the commercial property owners and business of Pomona pay from 2 to 5 times more the cost of the service. Therefore, even though we respect the private market, the government needs to find the way to supply the citizens with public services at service cost. The government is to provide services to its citizens with their taxes paid. The cities can’t be profiting from the citizens under t
- The small businesses in Pomona are struggling to keep their doors opened. it’s necessary that the city create program to stimulate the economy. Business grants, financial mentoring, and apprenticeship programs are necessary. The requirements need to be reduced to the minimum, because the programs that are currently offered, help a minimum number of applicants which make barely no difference in the sector.
The public sanitary service needs to be supervised and evaluated. New directors need to be hired. New business needs to be promoted, movie theaters, stores, and city attractions to be opened.
