  • Social Determinants Of Health Affecting Student Achievement - Addressing social issues that impact student behavior and academic performance and closing the gap in how social issues are addressed in our schools. Students are not cookie cutters whereby they all learn the same. They have different experiences related to their environment, social life, economics, education, and health that can influence how they perform in the classroom.
  • Diversity In The Administration And In Hiring Practices -To enhance accountability and diverse practices within the hiring structures that afford opportunities for growth in our teachers and other professional staff. I believe legislation brings about awareness and accountability. We must be transparent in our practices.
  • Leveraging partnerships and community engagement- Partnership with community agencies and businesses is essential to establishing healthy collaborations that help forge the mission.
I am personally passionate about the social determinants of health that affects student progress in academic advancement, testing results, mental health, and student behavior
I look up to individuals such Harriet Tubman, Michelle Obama, and passionate Educators who fiercely dedicate their lives to ensuring that children are given the opportunities to advance academically, socially, responsibly as they grow and develop into successful citizens of society exercising civility in creating a better community.

I have proven leadership that is personable with integrity, transparency, diversity, and inclusion to include a strong work ethic. I bring a parent heartbeat and teacher-friendly attitude that is empathic towards the needs of students, teachers, and non-instructional professionals. As a community advocate with political capital, I understand governmental practices, have established relationships in the community, and know the importance of speaking up for what is right and what is needed for those I will represent.
My first historical event as a child sitting in my classroom was tragic incident with Space Shuttle Challenger. I was about 10 years old.
First job was in high school at Burger King at the age of 16. I worked there for a year and began working at Long John Silvers until I went off to college. I have been working since the age of 16.
School board members represent and advocate for the needs and interests of students, teachers, staff and the public school
Students, teachers, non-instructional professionals, families, and those within the Seminole county public school system and Seminole County District 3
One of my greatest priorities is to establish new approaches to direct dialogue with our district's students, faculty, staff, and community. It is important to foster engagement as a Collective Coalition that brings diversity, cultural awareness, and a synergy to addressing many societal issues. Our youth are our future leaders and must engage today. It is increasingly important to prepare our students to operate and compete in not only a global society, but a diverse society; meaning, they should be culturally aware but also be able to appreciate and respect diversity in its many forms. As our schools remain one of the key institutions for helping shape their understanding and perspectives, we must create a platform where students are able to function effectively, even in the wake of a differentiating experience from their own. This is how they learn empathy, compassion, character, and tolerance, and as a result, become better leaders and members of society.

I also plan to establish channels that appeal to communication preferences of both segments. Parents may want direct conversation and email, whereas students may want to communicate through social media. We are going to establish an open-door policy with direct channels that demonstrate my commitment to being approachable and available so that I can be an effective advocate for them.
