Liem ran for election to the 22nd Circuit Court.
Primary: She was successful in the primary on August 5, 2014, receiving 41.4 percent of the vote. She competed against Pat Conlin and Michael Woodyard.
General: She was defeated in the general election on November 4, 2014, after receiving 47.5 percent of the vote. She competed against Pat Conlin.

Liem received a master's in business administration and a J.D. degree from the University of Michigan.[3]
Career
Liem is an attorney at the law offices of Smith Haughey Rice & Roegge. She practices family law and is a collaborative divorce specialist, mediator, and arbitrator.[3][4]
