The Veterans, Military Affairs and Public Protection Committee studies "[m]atters pertaining to military affairs and civil defense; national guard; veterans; retention of military bases; veterans' rights, benefits, and education; veterans' nursing homes; military memorials and cemeteries; safety of citizens and security of public buildings and property; fire prevention and protection; foods, drugs, and poisons; pure foods and drugs; trailer park regulations; hotel and restaurant regulations as they pertain to public health; sanitation plants; and garbage and refuse disposal."[1][2]
