Vicky Villagomez was elected to serve as the national committeewoman of the Republican Party of the Northern Mariana Islands in 2015.[1] She served on the Rules Committee of the convention in July 2016.[2]

Career

Villagomez works as a special assistant in the Office of Management and Budget in the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands (CNMI).[3] In this role, she assists in the preparation of reports for the CNMI government outlining the budget for public services throughout the territory.[4]

Villagomez was elected to serve as the national committeewoman to the Republican Party of the Northern Mariana Isalnds in 2015. She was in attendance for the Republican National Committee's quarterly meeting in January 2015. At that meeting, she seconded the nomination of Sharon Day as the RNC's co-chair.[5]

Villagomez was a member of the RNC Rules Committee, a 112-member body responsible for crafting the official rules of the Republican Party, including the rules that governed the 2016 Republican National Convention.[6]

Appointment process

The convention Rules Committee in 2016 consisted of one male and one female delegate from each state and territorial delegation. The Rules of the Republican Party required each delegation to elect from its own membership representatives to serve on the Rules Committee.
