An effort to recall District 1 Councilman Victor Hernandez in Lubbock, Texas from his position was launched in July 2014.[1] As of December 2015, this recall effort appeared to be abandoned and Ballotpedia discontinued active coverage. Please contact us if new developments occur with this recall effort.
Leo Flores targeted Hernandez due to his refusal to return phone calls since winning re-election. “I’ve asked him to meet with me about my concerns about my neighborhood and he hasn’t returned any of my calls,” Flores said.[1]
Selectmen response
Hernandez claimed that the recall was due to a difference within the local Democratic Party and not unreturned phone calls. "It really stems from a little bit of a tiff in the Democratic Party," he said.[1]

As of July 30, 2014, the recall had not been officially launched, though Flores created a Facebook page and gained more than 500 supporters.[1]
