Victor Laws III
Victor H. Laws was a part-time federal magistrate judge for the United States District Court for the District of Maryland. He was appointed to this position on March 22, 1988.[1] On March 21, 2012, he retired from the bench.[2]
Biography and Education
Judge Laws was born on May 11, 1953 in Baltimore, Maryland. He received his A.B. degree from Brown University in 1975 and his J.D. degree from the University of Maryland School of Law in 1978. He interned with Judge Marvin H. Smith of the Court of Appeals.[3]
Career
Judge Laws began his career in 1978 as a private practice lawyer with the firm Long, Laws, Hughes & Bahen. In 1984, he became a partner of the firm Laws & Laws, P.A., where he worked until his appointment to the U.S. District Court in 1988. From 1985 to 1994, he also taught at Salisbury State University and he has been the Director of Hebron Savings Bank since 1987.[1][3]
