Pippins won re-election for judge of the Superior Court of San Diego County in California outright in the primary on June 7, 2022, after the primary and general election were canceled.
Governor Gavin Newsom (D) appointed him to the court on December 8, 2020, to replace Judge Adrienne A. Orfield.[1]
