On November 26, 2024, Donald Trump (R) announced he would appoint Haley to serve as director of the Domestic Policy Council in his second presidential administration.[2]

Siobhan Dunnavant defeated Edward Whitlock, Vince Haley and Bill Janis in the Republican primary. Robert "Scott" Johnson ran as a third party independent candidate. Dunnavant defeated Repp and Johnson in the general election.[4]
