Virgil Osborne was the District 1 representative on the Pike County Board of Education in Kentucky from 2006 to 2014. He ran for re-election in the general election on November 4, 2014, where he was defeated.

Osborne graduated from Virgie High School, earned an associate degree from Pikeville Junior College, bachelor's from the University of Louisville, and master’s from Eastern Kentucky University. He is a retired teacher and coach, and is deacon emeritus at First Baptist Church.[1]

The election in Pike County featured two seats up for general election on November 4, 2014. There was no primary election. District 1 incumbent Virgil Osborne ran against challenger Ireland "Heavy" Blankenship and, with incumbent Chuck Johnson not filing for re-election, District 4 saw a three-way race between challengers Vicki Hatfield, Tim Reed II and Nee Jackson.
