2015

Elizondo provided the following statements on her campaign website:

PLATFORM

"As a native Houstonian I have spent my life in service to children. I will bring a wealth of educational experience and knowledge to the Board. If elected, together with the other members of the Spring Branch school board I will work toward academic success for all our students".

LIST OF ISSUES
Education
Every child in Spring Branch deserves a quality education. Spring Branch has a reputation for quality services and programming. I will work as a member of the board to ensure our district lives up to this reputation for all students in the district. The education of our students must come first.

Finance
The states funding formula keeps Spring Branch ISD at a disadvantage. Although we are 'property weathly' over half of our students are below the poverty line. Our district needs appropriate funding to meet the needs of our student population. Our property values continue to increase yet we are not able to utilize this funding for our students. We must continue to advocate for an equitable state funding formula.

Growth
Spring Branch is a great place to live. Parts of our community are undergoing redevelopment. More families are choosing Spring Branch to be their home. We will experience an increase of student population in these areas. As a member of the board I will work toward maintaining our small class sizes.
Advocacy
I will demonstrate a commitment to a shared vision, mission, and goals aligned to community beliefs for the welfare of all children. Decisions should address the present and future needs of our students and our community.[4]
