Virginia Sweet
Virginia Sweet (b. December 16, 1948) was a Democratic candidate for District 43 of the Alabama House of Representatives. The primary election was on June 1, 2010, and the general election was on November 2.
Biography
Sweet earned her B.A. in Sociology from Louisiana State University in 1969, her M.S.W. in Clinical Social Work from Louisiana State University in 1971 and her Ph.D. in Public Administration and Policy from Virginia Tech in 1996. Her professional experience includes working as Assistant Professor/Program Director for the University of Alabama at Birmingham from 1996 to 2000, Program Associate for United Way of Central Alabama from 2000 to 2001, Executive Director of The Women's Fund of Greater Birmingham from 2003 to 2009 and Principal of Leading Organizations LLC since 2001.
